photography tawk

I just came out of a photography slump. I did not feel like taking photos! I don’t know why specifically. Winter did seem extra-long this year. I felt like every photo I took was of the same boring old messy living room! Don’t get me wrong, I was still taking about 1 zillion cell phone photos. But, those don’t really count the same way in my mind.

I love it when a photo turns out exactly as you imagined it. Truth be told, I have never had the best photo gear. My camera body is an entry level Nikon accompanied by an off brand directional flash and no name 50mm lens. While it is certainly more than the average person, but most pros would not be impressed. However, I have always absolutely adored how SLR photos turn out so I wanted that for myself! I don’t think it necessarily matters how crystal clear the photo is if the feeling captured in an image. Whether it is 300px per square inch or 1500px, if your subject’s smile is as natural and perfect as you imagined it, it is beautiful at any pixilation. (Feel free to scoff photogs!)

I do see how much I have progressed over the years. Even with iPhone photos. The more you shoot the better you get and I forget that sometimes. I had my first couple’s photo shoot of the season this past week and I snapped and edited a few from the location. It was behind a refinery in my town which sounds like a strange spot to take lovey photos but it ended up being quite perfect. The industrial charm of my town is something I want to tackle in a separate post.

Here are some snaps from the shoot! If you love photos just get snapping people! Don't let anyone make you feel like you aren't 'good enough'.....
